Redsan's Chandigarh Story: The Place Where Redsan Became Redsan

The RedSan Chapters Series
Quick Answer: Before establishing its base in Dehradun, Redsan Digitals started as a small independent agency in Chandigarh in November 2020. The first client was a neighbourhood cafe in Kharar, Punjab, and within a year Redsan was managing digital marketing for an entire business group spanning a gym, a mall, a resort, a hotel, and a clothing brand. This was not just an early stop on a resume; it was the crucible where Redsan learned what it takes to build, retain, and scale real client operations.

November 2020. Kharar. One small cafe. No big office. No massive client roster. Just a young founder trying to prove that a small independent agency could create something businesses would actually value.

That cafe was FunBuzz.

It became the beginning of Redsan.

Too many agency origin stories sound like prepared press releases, scrubbed clean of the doubt, the late nights, and the sheer trial-and-error that actually built the company. This article is not a promotional retrospective. It is the first installment of the Redsan Chapters: an honest look at the place where Redsan became Redsan.

What Were We Doing in November 2020?

In late 2020, the world was still navigating pandemic disruptions. Businesses were figuring out how to survive when foot traffic dropped, and consumers were living on their phone screens. For a young founder starting an independent marketing shop in Chandigarh, the goal was simple: do real work for real businesses that need customers right now, not six months from now.

There was no safety net and no sales team. Every conversation was direct, every video had to be shot in person, and every rupee spent by a client carried the weight of their livelihood.

Why did we take FunBuzz?

FunBuzz was a friendly neighbourhood cafe in Kharar run by its owner, Harry. When you are starting with zero agency case studies, you do not wait for enterprise accounts to call you. You find a local business where the food is good, the space has character, and the owner is hungry to grow. FunBuzz gave Redsan room to experiment, create, and build genuine community affinity from the ground up.

The FunBuzz Days: 150 Posts and Community Culture

Over nearly two years of working together, Redsan produced more than 150 posts for FunBuzz. The content avoided sterile graphic templates. Instead, the cafe itself became a creative hub.

During this period, the team was joined by Ajay Karki, a Nepal-based dance performer and creator. Rather than treating social media like an advertisement board, the team used the cafe tables, the counter, and the floor as a backdrop for high-energy dance routines and creator collaborations. Redsan's founder jumped into videos alongside the team, creating fun, community-driven content that local students and Kharar residents actively shared.

What was the biggest mistake during those first months?

Trying to do everything manually without boundaries. In the early days, you carry the tripod, shoot the video, edit on CapCut or Premiere until 3 AM, write the caption, manage comments, run ad tests, and balance the books the next morning. It taught us how every piece of the machine works, but it also taught us that sheer hustle without operational structure will eventually bottleneck client growth. That lesson shaped how Redsan builds workflows today.

What Happened When Shivjot Approached Us?

In a tight-knit market like Kharar and Mohali, local business owners watch each other closely. The buzz around FunBuzz did not go unnoticed. Shivjot Builders, one of the prominent development and commercial organizations in the region, reached out.

Suddenly, Redsan was not just running a neighbourhood cafe account. We were handed the responsibility of managing digital marketing across an entire commercial group.

Golds Gym Kharar and Mentorship with Mrs. Arti Raghuvanshi

The engagement started with what was originally Golds Gym Kharar (which later transitioned to Wolf Gym, and eventually became LevelUp Gym Kharar). Redsan's founder stepped in as marketing manager, overseeing day-to-day promotional operations, while Ajay Karki taught as a professional dance coach on the gym floor.

During this period, Redsan had the privilege of working closely with and being mentored by Mrs. Arti Raghuvanshi (@rtraghuvanshi), a respected fitness athlete and influencer. Working alongside her brought a new level of discipline and production rigor to our creative direction.

National Brand Campaigns: Myprotein & Torque Fitness

Creative Production & Fitness Media

Through our collaboration with Mrs. Arti Raghuvanshi, Redsan had the opportunity to shoot and produce high-impact promotional video campaigns for premier fitness brands, including Myprotein and Torque Fitness (Watch the campaign video here).

Turning Point: Producing content that met national brand standards proved that a young team working out of Kharar could compete on lighting, pacing, narrative, and visual polish with established studio agencies.

Becoming the Primary Marketing Team for the Group

As the trust deepened, Redsan's founder assumed marketing management responsibilities across multiple branches of the Shivjot portfolio simultaneously:

The founder frequently appeared directly in campaign videos to bridge the brand with customers, including this promo and this on-camera walk-through. Redsan spent close to a full year operating embedded within the Shivjot group.

Culture, Spoken Word & Momopur: Building From Scratch

Redsan's presence in Chandigarh was never confined to ad dashboards. We believed then, as we do now, that marketing without community connection is hollow.

The founder was closely involved in organizing open mic evenings alongside the Lazzate Alfaz collective, founded by Amarnath. Amarnath brought a deep passion for Urdu and Hindi spoken word poetry to the team, performing sets appraised by venues like Social Club in Sector 7, Chandigarh, including collaborative sets alongside stand-up comedian Vishal Tyagi. That connection to art, writing, and stage performance directly influenced how Redsan approaches copy and storytelling.

Momopur: From a Single Street Stall to Brand Footprint

Brand Incubation

Another definitive relationship from this era was Momopur. When we started, Momopur was a small street-style eatery. Redsan created and managed their Instagram identity from day one. Since then, Momopur has grown into a recognized multi-franchise food brand across Punjab.

Core Philosophy: Taking a business from zero to brand recognition is vastly different from managing an already famous corporate logo. It demands obsessive attention to packaging, dish presentation, and local word-of-mouth.

Alongside Momopur, Redsan managed paid Meta ad funnels for regional food brands like First Bite Pizza and a local Indian Dhaba, coordinating campaigns across five different locations to drive direct online delivery orders.

Even from Chandigarh, our work stretched abroad. Redsan managed social media content for Prep Germany, an educational consultancy helping candidates prepare for careers in Germany: an early confirmation that geographic borders do not limit client impact.

When Did We Realize This Could Become a Real Agency?

It was not when we signed our first contract, and it was not when our first video gained thousands of local views. It was when the compounding power of relationships revealed itself.

Years after the FunBuzz days, Harry, the original cafe owner who had moved to Canada, reached out. He introduced Redsan to the owners of Yasin Banqueting Suite in the United Kingdom, leading to an extensive digital PR and online reputation management engagement. That contract did not come from an automated cold email or an outbound sales team; it came because of how we treated a small cafe in Kharar years earlier.

When your past clients become your long-term advocates across oceans, you realize you are not running a temporary freelancing gig. You have built an agency with real foundation.

Why did we eventually move toward Dehradun?

Chandigarh and Kharar were where Redsan proved its concept. We learned how to handle aggressive business owners, how to manage multiple industries at once, and how to create content that drives real revenue. But Dehradun offered a clean canvas to build a dedicated headquarters, assemble our core multidisciplinary team, and establish an ecosystem of our own. We did not leave Chandigarh behind; we carried everything it taught us into our next chapter.
